Mr. Dennis McKinley- Dance Teacher/ Director
Bio: Born in San Jose California, Mr. McKinley has over 13 years dance and teaching experience training in street Jazz, Hip-hop styles and Commercial dance. After 10 years of touring and dancing professionally, he has pursued a career in teaching. Taking over as director of the Taft Dance Program in 2012-13, He plans to continue the legacy of speaking through movement, teaching life, art, and creativity through dance.

Coach Da'Vonte Clark
Da'Vonte started dancing at a very young age, he grew up dancing. He began competitively dancing in middle school at age of 10 in Las Vegas where he earn a spot on the Titans Step Team, in which he trained in "Steppin". He then moved from Las Vegas, Nevada to California where he attended Taft high school. Where he joined the Taft High School Dance Team as a sophomore and began training in many different styles of dance, Jazz Funk, Hip Hop, New Jack, Housing, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Modern. After graduating, he currently is enrolled at LA Mission Community College, where he plans to transfer to a UC and obtain a PhD in Psychology. Coach Da'Vonte has a undeniable passion for dance. He specializes in Jazz Funk, Hip Hop, and Contemporary. In He is very, excited to be the dance coach and help as many students reach their goals in dance and in life. As a alumni he will always be Toreador at heart!! Who's House .... T-House!!

Coach Nessy Alawami (27)
CSUN graduate. She has been dancing for 20 years at a 5678 Dance Company. Starting teaching at the young age of 16. Dance styles are ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary, jazz and tap. She is glad to be a part of the Taft dance team family and can't wait to see what the future brings for this team.
